In this joint event with London cheese shop La Cave à Fromage, we take chocolate matching to another level by pairing fine chocolate and artisanal farmhouse cheese, with a little wine thrown in for good measure.

Growing county chocolate - Santander, Colombia

This month’s featured chocolate made in a growing country is Santander of Colombia, a lesser known cacao origin, but one with some great beans.

Following a recent visit to Santander’s beautiful highland experimental cacao farm, Martin Christy will introduce fine chocolate and give a talk with photos and samples from his trip, all accompanied by Melt’s Santander house truffle, a glass of wine and a goody bag to take away.

New origins from Chocovic and Linköping Chokladfestival 2009

Chocovic have two new origin offerings, brought in to supplement their existing small origin range. Both bars are a step up in quality for the Spanish bean to bar maker, who are also owners of the Sampaka chocolatier chain and suppliers to upmarket Spanish brands such as Enrico Rovira. We tried them at the Linköping Chokladfestival 2009 with Art Pollard and Maja Berthas.
